For some, “The Working Archive” may be a contradiction in terms. But for the designers, architects and creatives at SR, the process of curating is essential to the work and never complete. When viewing the Working Archive, through lines emerge just as readily as anomalies. For Franz Riebenbauer and Almut Becvar, their practice has been characterized by constant foraging. From obscure magazines and books, to downed tree limbs and found pencils, the studio serves as a private collection of aesthetic references, arcane tools, inside jokes and various talismans. The Working Archive offers the public, for the first time, an ever-evolving look at these objects that have shaped two decades of work.
